Patch 0.17 - UI, Map, Character, Stats, Items & Ranked

This patch has focused a lot around the User Experience of the game. Again a lot of playtesting and valuable feedback on our discord has helped us take a step we've been wanted for a long time.

This patch focuses a lot on laying the groundwork for updates to come, to get big new stuff out early and have it tested by you awesome folks.
+ Some new huge features added, for early testing!

In this update, we have focused on the following:

  • UI has been reworked to have a left/right split, to better view and interact with your build and team
  • The Map has been slightly reworked, new events have been added and the frequency of events adjusted
  • Lots of new stuff for Nara, and made both characters interactable and relevant throughout Demo.
  • Adjusted diffculty and Ranked mode added with humble beginnings.
  • Finally added Character stats (Attack, Defense, Health + Skill)
  • Added Item Melding (Absorb items to gain small permanent stat boosts)

We are going to push regular updates (every 2-3 weeks) with major stuff each time.

Patch Notes 0.17:

--- UI: ---
The UI has been fully redone and is still WIP.
After much deliberation, we have switched to a left/right UI split. This is to focus more on the strategy aspect
of the game, as well as better display all characters in your team. This is the first part of a long list of changes to
make the entire team feel more interactable and more as a team, rather than 3 individual characters.



--- Map: ---
In addition to the UI, the map has been reworked to fit. The map has also received some changes, mainly in how
often events appear - you should now see more variation within run, and from run to run.
A lot of events have been changed and reworked, to be made more interesting.

Recyclebot has been joined by his two brothers from another motherboard.
Scrapbot and Goldbot join the fray as random events!

Rebel Map has been reworked, to be repeatable and place various crates around the journey that can be found with this new treasuremap!

--- Character: --- 
Nara total cards from 45 --> 65.
Reworked stances into spirits. Completely reworked the mechanic.

Added the 4th spirit: Fox! Summoning the Fox spirit gives you a Fox Tail (up to 9). For each Fox Tail, all your cards gain increased effectiveness.

Added a bunch of spirits to other cards, reworked many cards completely.

Shield Reworked:
Now each Shield Card gives more Shield - but Shield is reduced by 25% at the start of each of your turns, and does not reset at the end of cycle.

--- Stats: --- 
Character stats added!
All characters now have Attack, Defense, Skill & Health.
Increasing these stats, gives small incremental increases to the base value of your cards and effects.

  • Health: Represents your maximum Health. 
  • Attack: Represents your attack damage as a percentage. 
  • Defense: Represents your Shield and Healing as a percentage.
  • Skill: Represents the buffs and debuffs you apply as a percentage.

Example: If you have 100 Attack, that means your attacks deal 100% of their damage.
If an attack says 10 Damage, it will deal 10.
If you have 120 attack, that means you deal 120% damage.
If an attack says 10 Damage, it will deal 12. 
If you have 90 attack, that means you deal 90% Damage.
If an attack says 10 Damage, it will deal 9.

It works the same for skills if they are numbered. So something like strength, armor, spikes.
They will be increased by your Skill - and will then be rounded to the nearest whole.

--- Items: --- 
Item Melding added!
All items can now be broken down and melded to power up your Heroes for small stat gains.

Meld items by dragging them over your characters, and see their stats grow.

In addition, 20 new items added, with unique items for each character included in the pool.


--- Ranked: --- 
Humble beginnings of Ranked mode added to game.
After completing the game on Normal Mode, it unlocks Ranked Mode.
Ranked more adds scaling to enemies, and rewards you with points based on how well you do.
By beating the game you grow in ranks, from Bronze to Diamond, and the game will become increasingly difficult as you grow in ranks.
